Background

"Voiceover for Daily Scenarios" is a video installation that draws inspiration from the facial expression of speech-impaired individuals often led to misunderstandings and reluctance to communicate with them, I used facial tracking technology to analyze the facial trajectories of 20 speech-impaired individuals during communication.

Concept

The Flower

I transformed the experiences of speech-impaired individuals into imagery where a flower blooms from their mouths, depicting the unnatural expressions when words fail. They should not face discrimination; they are born as they are, and that is beautiful.

Voiceover

Subsequently, I invited twenty four individuals of various genders and ages to provide voiceovers for this daily life portrayal of speech-impaired individuals. I intentionally did not inform them of the content, allowing their interpretations and descriptions to be the most authentic and unscripted.

Final Design

Through the reinterpretation of voiceover, what can be discovered

In 24 voice-over images, voice actors initially started with sounds or uncertainty in improvisational situations. As the voice acting process progresses, the story they described became clearer. Ultimately, when combined with images of flowers, these unique voiceovers found balance and created a new form of expression.
